Rebel Girl is a colorway that is recreated each year by Lou of Old Rusted Chair. Preorders open up quarterly, and for the Rebel Girl preorder of August 9, 2021, $10 per skein and $15 per sock set will be donated to Planned Parenthood of Tennessee and North Mississippi. Intended to fit with 4½ - 5 in / 11.5-12.5 cm of negative ease. Photos show size 9 on a 21½ in / 54 cm head circumference. Size up or down as desired. See additional sizing info in the Schematic at left.

BLOCKED GAUGE

25 sts and 34 rnds = 4 in / 10 cm in stockinette pattern on US 4 / 3.5 mm needles after blocking

30 sts and rnds = 4 in / 10 cm in twisted rib pattern on US 2 / 2.75 mm needles after blocking

NEEDLES

Always use a needle size that achieves correct gauge after blocking.

Ribbing: US 2 / 2.75 mm circular needles, 12 in / 30 cm long for working in the round or at least 32 in / 80 cm long if using magic loop

Stockinette: US 4 / 3.5 mm circular needles, 12 in / 30 cm long for working in the round or at least 32 in / 80 cm long if using magic loop; DPNs for the crown if not using magic loop

Any fingering weight yarn

Pattern uses Old Rusted Chair Sock (2-ply fingering weight blend of 80% superwash Merino and 20% nylon, 100 grams / 400 yds / 365 m per skein) in the Rebel Girl February 2021 colorway.

Yardage includes a 10% buffer.
