Advent season is almost here! Collecting minis and advents are one of those joys I simply can’t get enough of and yet I always wonder what to do with all these goodies in my life. So I made a design that celebrates the flavor of the holidays I love, using some great minis in a Jocelyn-size shawl (it’s a big one).

Release Schedule
Instead of a daily update I will be updating the MKAL every three days. That way if a holiday event or life stuff happens you have the flexibility to get ahead or catch up without feeling left behind. I’m also hoping this updated schedule helps keep you from feeling overwhelmed. We all have busy lives so why not make things as easy as I can.

Yarn
The pattern calls for 24 20-gram minis and one full 100grm skein of fingering weight yarn (about 375 meters per 100 gram). I used an advent calendar designed by FireWeed Fibre Co for this.

You can use any yarn or minis you want just remember that it can affect your yardage. Some suggestions:
Use an advent of your choice,
Make a color palette of your choice with 24 minis and a main skein from your stash or your local yarn store or other favorite yarn places
You can use as few or as many colors as you want. Just take a look at the yardage and use the number of colors you want. Not necessary to use minis.
Or if you really wish you can just use one or two colors.
