This pattern comes with two versions. You can either knit a flat butterfly, to use for applique, or knit a 3-dimensional butterfly, which would make a lovely toy or mobile. The pattern comes with instructions and colour charts for both versions. Again I have tried to make it as realistic as possible. There is a little bit of embroidery to do on the wings.
