Red is no longer available from Village Yarns Sweetie Pie. For the black, I used Loops and Thread Value Pack in Black, which has also been discontinued.

However, I have worked this pattern with Village Yarn crochet cotton, and it worked up well. Any Sport or DK yarn seems to work with this pattern.

It can be made longer, but it uses up yarn very fast the bigger the ruffles get along the edge.
