red campion mitts
These pretty handwarmers feature a sweet flower motif inspired by Red Campion (Silene dioica). A splash of pink on hedge banks & woods in early summer much loved by pollinators including bees, butterflies & moths. Named after Silenus, the aged & merry Greek God of the Woodlands. In the Language of Flowers, it symbolises gentleness.
These handwarmers make a perfect small project. With interesting elements for both the experienced knitter & the beginner looking for a stranded colourwork challenge.
Worked in the round, top down with a shaped thumb gusset for a good fit. The motifs are worked in stranded colourwork.
