This pattern is for a pair of ornate cable socks. The cable itself is a Canadian cable that is just perfect for socks, that comes to us from the creative mind of Annie Maloney. There’s enough “give” to make them comfortable: they will hug your ankle/leg without being too tight. There is an unusual cabling to make them interesting to look at and fun to knit. The back and front are the same until the heel flap: both with the same cable.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a basic knowledge of knitting and purling, lace knitting and cabling).

The cable stitch is both written out and charted.

This pattern is written for 2 circular needles and is written for sizes Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large, and is sized by gauge (if you want to adjust your size from M, be sure to adjust your yarn so it matches your new needle size). MOST women wear socks in size M (shoe size 6 - 9)
The sock pictured here was made with Handmaiden’s Prosecco yarn in colorway, Piscine
The socks shown in the sample was expertly test knitted by Phyllis Lederman who can be contacted at: phyllisgl@verizon.net
