It’s a bonnet-like hat that fits snugly around the ears, with ties to hold it in place. This is my go on a vintage pattern that has been around for generations.

The hat is designed to fit a child of 1-2 years, but the size is easily adjustable (recipe is included in the pattern).

14.12.2012: I’ve just discovered a mistake in the pattern - the starting strip before decreases should be 13, not 3, cm. The pattern has been corrected on the blog, too.
