The Red Rock Canyon is a bedrock canyon carved by the Blakiston Creek, in Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta. The canyon was used as a buffalo jump location by the Kootenai and Blackfeet Nations and has great significance in their culture.
The iron-rich rock makes the stone vivid red in color and is in stark contrast with the surrounding greys of the Rocky Mountains. Layers of green rock are sandwiched in between red layers making for a curious geological display. The variegated stone of this canyon was the inspiration for this cozy cowl.
