Redoubt
Redoubt (ri-dout)
Noun
Fortification, an isolated earthwork forming a complete enclosure of any form, used to defend a prominent point.
Redoubts are circular fortifications, often with star-shaped defenses the radiate outward from the center. I used the Citadel of Lille as the source for my inspiration (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citadel_of_Lille)
Redoubt is a chevron cowl accented by stockinette ribs that stand out on a garter stitch background. Designed to be knit in a single color or in multiple shades, the texture will flatter and flirt around your neck, while keeping it warm and safe: your defense against the coldest winter or the chilliest office conditions. Redoubt is knit in the round, and can be knit be advanced beginners. There are only 6 stitches used in knitting the cowl: knit, purl, m1l, m1r, ssk and k2tog. There is even an additional version that omits the leaning increases and uses kfb increases only! Even better: the pattern uses an easy-to-memorize 2 round repeat.
