Inspired by summer nights spent listening to a rambling creek with some easy knitting.
Use one skein of your favorite sock or 1-2 colors of a laceweight yarn for a sweet shawl to keep your shoulders warm on a breezy night.
This is an advanced beginner/intermediate pattern. You need to be able to follow easy lace patterns, either from chart or written directions.

Both shawls - 50” / 127 cm wingspan and 22” / 56 cm high (along center spine of shawl)

Willow Yarns Stream - 70% superwash wool / 30% silk, 437 yds / 400 m per 1.75 oz / 50 g - shown in colors #4 River & #1 Natural, 1 ball of each; or approx. 350 yds / 320 m of a laceweight yarn (for one color shawl) or 120 yds / 110 m for MC & 230 yds / 210 m for CC (for two colored shawl)
Variegated Shawl
Fable Fibers Folktale - 100% superwash merino wool, 400 yds / 366 m per 3.53 oz / 100 g - shown in colorway Fairy Garden, 1 skein; or approx. 400 yds / 366 m of a sockweight yarn
Needles
Size US 4 / 3.5 mm, 32” circular - or size needed to obtain gauge
Gauge
18 sts + 32 rows = 4” / 10 cm in Stockinette stitch
Pattern Notes
Shawl is worked from the top down, using either charted or written directions.
There will be increases on either side of the center stitch on each right side row throughout.
