REFRACTUS
A prism refracts white light and breaks it up into the colors of the rainbow. The Refractus shawl mimics a prism with its narrow tip breaking up into wider wedges by the use of short-rows. It starts with just a few stitches and grows larger and larger. It’s a perfect shawl for rainbow or gradient mini-skein kits.

SIZE
Approximately 27 cm wide x 185 cm long in sample shawl.

YARN
Lisa Linkvarn Sok, TON kits in rainbow: fingering sock yarn (merino + nylon), 400m/100g.

8 colors are used in the sample shawl, and two kits are needed. Colors 1-3 use <20g. Wedge 7-8 might be exactly at 21-22 g, see tip below if you’re worried about running out, or use a smaller needle size.

NEEDLES
3.5 mm/US4/UK9.5 circular needles 80 cm.
