Regal Dog Jumper
My dog Cesar is the inspiration for this smart, modern dog jumper with knit-look ribbed neck and cuffs. Cesar loves to be cosy and warm. As he’s the king I wanted a design that reflects his regal status whilst being cute and cosy.
Sizes
S (M, L)
Actual inside neck size of jumper 30cm (34, 42cm) to fit dog with neck size 25-30cm (30-36cm, 37-44cm)
Actual inside chest size of jumper 38cm (46cm, 53cm) to fit dog with chest size 33-38cm (40-46cm, 46-53cm)
Length of jumper 26cm (26, 32cm)
My dog Cesar is a long legged jack russell (actually a parson russell but no one ever knows what that is, just think of a bigger jack russell) and he is between size M and L due to having a deep chest. I have made him the size M with extra stitches for the chest area.
The sample size made was size S; the model in the magazine is a beautiful shi tzu.
Measure your dog around the neck and chest and choose the closest size.
You can make the jumper longer or shorter.
Use any aran weight yarn you like. If your tension is different go up or down a hook size.
Pattern is worked in joined rounds, from the neck to middle of the back, and then back and forth rows to complete the length. Leg cuffs are also worked in joined rounds.
Do not fasten off at the end of each round, instead work 1 chain after the last stitch, place a stitch marker in the chain. When needing this colour again pull up a long loop and proceed in the pattern.
Adjust the length of the jumper by rep Rnd 5 as many times as you want.
