Reichenbach
Reichenbach is a hybrid between a triangular shawl and a crescent-shaped one, and is designed to use one 100-g skein of sock yarn. It can be easily enlarged to use more yarn if desired.
Reichenbach starts out going one direction with a very long garter tab, then gets stitches picked up, goes two directions at once with lots of increases for the body, and finally ends with a craggy knitted-on border that’s complex enough to be interesting but simple enough that it doesn’t take too long to memorize. And it’s all garter stitch, with a couple of increases and a little binding off in the last stage -- no purling! As a bonus, it’s easy to add a little more interest to the monotony of knits for days by choosing a highly-variegated yarn, which will really shine thanks to the widely varying row lengths throughout the piece.
