Finally! Clear instructions on how to make socks with an easily-replaced sole!

If you’re like me, you love handknit socks, you just hate the fact that you wear out the ball of the foot so fast and can’t darn a hole that big. Now you don’t have to knit a whole new foot when that happens - you can just replace the sole!

These socks are knit from the top down, and the top and bottom of the foot are knit separately so the sole can be removed and replaced, if necessary. Not only is this a handy feature, but it also makes for some neat effects when you use patterned yarns!

Pattern includes directions for worsted weight yarn on size 5 needles, making socks that are a large women’s or small men’s size. These directions can easily be adapted for use on other patterns - the technique of joining the sole and top of the foot is easy once you give it a try!

I used one skein of Liberty Wool for each socks, with a tiny bit left over. If you’re making Manly Man socks, you’ll need more than two balls to complete them. If you’ve got dainty feet, expect some leftovers.
