Reindeer Head Christmas Applique
This pattern describes in US terminology how to crochet a reindeer applique as shown on pictures, including instructions for the background patch.
Finished size of the reindeer will be approx. 3.5” x 2”, h x w, (9 x 5 cm), background patch will be approx. 4.5” (11.5 cm) in diameter, all made using 5 ply cotton yarn and hook size C (2.5 mm).
You can make smaller or taller versions of this applique by using thicker or thinner yarn.
Gauge is not important for this pattern, just work tight enough so your crochet will not show holes.
Materials used:
- Crochet hook size C (2.5 mm)
- Small amounts of yarn; taupe, white, red, brown, green
- Stitch markers, tapestry needle, pins, embellishments of personal choice.
Stitches used: slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet
Skill level: advanced beginner
