Reindeer Ornament
My parents started a tradition when we were young; they would get us a new ornament each year so when we grew up and moved out, we would have enough ornaments to fill our own Christmas tree.
I have never analyzed the ornaments that are on my tree now, but as I sit here staring at it, I came to realize that a majority of the ornaments that I have on my tree are handmade of some sort. Some were made in Sunday School, some are from friends, some are from artisans that were gifted to me and some are ornaments I made in the recent years.
Now, the reason I picked these particular ornaments is very apparent: I am drawn to these handmade ornaments because they represent memories. I can remember who gave them to me, what they or that memory meant to me or being young and starting my maker journey.
This new crochet reindeer ornament is going to be a continuation of what I am now calling my ‘Handmade Memories Christmas Tree.’
The reindeer ornament is simple and easy to customize. You can make him as a simple reindeer, or give him a bright red nose and make him a Rudolph! Give him as a gift or keep him for yourself! Start your Handmade Memories Christmas Tree and you’ll be reliving these loving handmade memories for years to come.
Level of difficulty: Easy
You will need to know how to chain, single crochet, do a magic ring and attach an appliqué.
