Reinvention
What’s all that nonsense about this being a hat with two patterns?
Exactly what it says: double-knitting brings many tricks to the table, but I would say by far and away the most impressive and unusual one is the ability to have one pattern on one side of the fabric, and a TOTALLY DIFFERENT ONE on the other side.
And I’m not just talking about having the two colours shown in negative, or the fact that there’s a cat on the front, looking to the left, while the cat on the back is looking to the right. Oh no!
Two completely different, two-colour patterns, that don’t need to bear any resemblance to each other at all, other than the fact that they use the same two colours.
And best of all: it really isn’t difficult to knit! It simply requires a little bit of focus, and careful attention to the chart, but that’s really it.
Why Reinvention?
If you get bored wearing it one way, you can
completely reinvent your look by turning your hat inside out.
One of the patterns is inspired by old Victorian floor mosaics, while the other is one what I did make up out of my own head!
