Release The Kraktopus for Aran
Gauge: 17 sts in stockinette stitch in 4in /10cm (row gauge is not important for this pattern)
You will need: aran yarn in main color (up to 100 grams for the smallest size, up to 200 grams for the largest size), needles to obtain gauge.
Small amount if dk yarn in contrast color and smaller needles than usually used for that yarn for knitting in the round (for example, if you usually use 4mm needles with that yarn, you will need 3mm needles this time) to make the binding for eyes, and dk or worsted yarn (again, smaller needle size needed) to make the Kraktopus tentacles (about 100-110 grams on average). The amount of yarn needed for tentacles depends on how much volume you want your tentacles to have.
This pattern is available only in teen and adult sizes – mostly because having a ski mask with eye openings only and with tentacles would be too distressing for a younger child to have on for prolonged periods of time.
