A textured scarf as impeccably elegant as any of Dr. Lecter’s meals, sure to be the pièce de résistance of your winter wardrobe.

Relevés is knit in two pieces and grafted together in the middle using kitchener stitch, making it easy to adjust the length and maximize your yarn usage. It is recommended that you alternate skeins if using a hand dyed yarn to ensure even colouring throughout the scarf. Gauge isn’t critical on this project.

Materials:

  • 2 skeins DyeForYarn DK Silk/Merino superwash or 450 yards DK weight yarn
  • one pair US 5 needles
  • stitch markers
  • tapestry needle
  • scrap yarn or spare needle

Skills needed: Knitting, purling, Kitchener stitch. For a demonstration of Kitchener stitch, see this video.

The Relevés pattern is inspired by Thomas Harris’ character Hannibal Lecter as seen in NBC’s Hannibal. It is available individually for purchase or as part of the Edite Insolentes ebook.
