Remember Cowl
This beautiful reversible cowl features a scattering of delicate poppies strewn across a plain background. Worked in the double-knitting technique, Remember is not only gorgeous, but being double thickness, is also super warm and comfortable. You also get to choose which way round you want to wear it, depending on which colours you want to display.
Intended to be my tribute to the soldiers who lost their lives in the First World War, Remember is the perfect cowl for now, during four years of centenary commemorations.
Never double-knit before? Don’t worry: the pattern contains full instructions for all the techniques involved, and links to video tutorials to help you as much as you need. All you need to know in order to make this stunning cowl is contained right here in the pattern pages.
Whether you are a seasoned, veteran double-knitter, or a total novice, I have every faith that you will be able to knit your very own Remember cowl, and maybe learn some new tricks along the way.
Geared towards a variety of different skill levels, the pattern includes several alternative options, so that if you are uncertain of some of the techniques, you can still make the cowl successfully.
Remember contains some fairly unusual features, such as double-knitted bobbles! The centres of the poppies are made with adorable contrasting bobbles, adding life and texture to an otherwise standard stocking stitch background. Again, all you need to know in order to make the bobbles is right here.
Remember is knitted in the round, using an invisible cast on, and a kitchener stitch bind off, but you can easily substitute a sturdier cast on, and a simpler cast off, to suit your needs.
Whatever options you choose, wherever you go, people will see your Remember cowl, and fall in love with it just as much as you will when you see it come off your needles!
Included in the pattern: The chart has been divided into four sections to make it a decent size for printing, but the complete chart is also available as a separate download when you purchase the pattern, so that you can view it on a tablet screen or other mobile divide to keep with you wherever you go.
