The Remembrance Hat is designed with some traditional Fair Isle designs as well as stranded colourwork for the large poppy design. There is an approximately 6cm/2inch poppy worked separately that is attached to the crown of the hat. The poppy can be removed and worn on a coat as a symbol of remembrance or left on the crown of the hat.

The is knitted using Jamieson’s Spindrift, the original colours are (1 each):

• Black #999
• Purple Heather #239
• Cardinal #323
• Granite #122
• Turf #144

Note: if using different wool, this is a 2-ply which is equivalent to a 4-ply/fingering weight.

DPN needle sizes 2.75mm & 3.25mm.

This hat is knit in the round. Please note - if you are using circular needles, you will need a set of 2.75mm and 3.25mm DPNs to complete the crown and the poppy.

This hat would look equally stunning in a dark navy or green. NOTE: I will be adding more poppy patterns to this original pattern so if you purchase this, you will see updates added as I try some different ways to knit remembrance poppies!
