Remo Cowl
The Remo Cowl is a thick and cosy neck warmer that keeps out the chills on a winter’s day. I wanted to make something that keeps me warm and stays put while I work as shawls and scarves sometimes get in the way. I’ve designed the pattern to be close fitting to the neck but it is easy enough to make bigger (or smaller) by changing the stitch count.
The crochet stitch design is a nod to Brioche Knitting as I like the look of it but have never tried it! It creates a very thick fabric which has a lovely texture and is enhanced by using two colours. Recommended yarn weight is dk.
When I was trying to think of the name for this design my husband was replacing the snare on one of his Remo drums. The cowl does look a bit like a drum so that’s what I called it! It’s suitable for both men and woman - just depends on the colours you choose to make it in!
The pattern includes a video link for technical help.
