This is no ordinary scarf. Heck, it’s not even an ordinary reversible cable scarf.

Remy has a different cable patterning motif on each side! How cool is that?

There’s no wrong side to the scarf, and you get two designs in one. Don’t worry, it’s not much different than working a cable, and it is relatively simple to achieve.

PDF Pattern was available here on Ravelry (designer’s version), from Designer’s website (designer’s version) or from the Interweave Store (magazine version). Designer’s version included extra photos and additional info on modifications.

Green sample shown worked to 7’/ 2.1 m long using Lion Brand LB Collection (100% Organic Wool; 185 yds/ 170 m, 3.5 oz/ 100 g); color: avocado, 4 skeins. Red sample shown worked without seed stitches (see “Notes” on page 2) using Berroco Ultra Alpaca (50% wool, 50% alpaca, 215 yds/ 197 m, 3.5 oz/ 100 g); color: chianti #6236, 3 skeins.

• 1 US 8/ 5 mm needle, or size needed to obtain gauge
• Cable needle
• Darning needle

GAUGE

• 30 sts and 16 rows = 4”/ 10cm in 1x1 rib pattern30 sts and 16 rows = 4”/10 cm in k1, p1 rib, blocked
• 58 sts and 32 rows = 8”/ 20.5 cm wide and 5”/ 12.5 cm tall in pattern stitch worked twice, blocked.

ERRATA NOTE 10/27/09: There’s an error in the chart as printed in the magazine. If you worked it as is, you probably didn’t even realize that there was a problem. It’s not really a noticeable error - it just makes working it a little bit of a pain since it’s not as easy to memorize and the little circles on the side panels become more squat.

Basically, the chart has you working the cables on Row 6 of the side panel. You should actually be working the cables on ROW 7.
