A sweater with ribbed yoke and cables

Ren れん in Japanese (pronounced as “ran” in English) is the pronunciation of many kanji with different meanings. My favourite ones with beautiful imagery and attributes are 漣 (ripple) , 蓮 (lotus), 恋 (love), 憐 (compassion) and 連 (connect). I hope that you can connect with some of these words as you knit this sweater.

NOTES AND TECHNIQUES

This sweater is knitted in the round from the top down. Increases in the yoke and chart are made with yarn over and reverse yarn over. The back of the sweater is shaped with German short rows. Ribbed cable pattern on body and sleeves is knitted from charts.

ポイントとテクニック

トップダウン式に編むセーターです. ヨークおよび模様内の増し目にはかけ目 (YO) と逆向きのかけ目 (RYO) を使います. 襟下がりはドイツ式引返し編みで作ります. 身頃と袖のリブケーブルの模様はチャートを見て編みます.
