Renaissance ruffle collar
The pattern utilize the normal trait of stockinette and reverse stockinette stitch to curve in and out respectively. Shortened rows and normal rows are used to create a design of wedges (one side) and ridges (the other). Pattern is reversible. Crochet chain cast-on, joined stitch by stitch at the ends.
You have to make a gauge and measure you neck height, i.e the desired width of the item, and add approximately 3 cm to obtain the stitch count. Round up to the nearest number divisible by 4 plus two side stitches to obtain presented proportions of wedges. I cast on 58 (56+2)
Pretty much any reasonably bouncy yarn can be used. Floppy ones, i.e. something very soft, won’t hold the shape.
I used one ball of Schoppel-Wolle Lace. There are about 20 g left of it.
