Every so often I meet someone that has such a unique and fun sense of style that I cannot help but be inspired by them, and this design was inspired by one of those people, Renee. She is a creative and innovative fiber artist that works at Black Mountain Yarn Shop and the way she plays with pops of color in her handmade wardrobe is infectious (in the best way….when I was there visiting and teaching this Spring I just knew what my next cast on would need to be!) I combined a simple, fun drop stitch lace pattern with all over texture for this delightful little tee that is such a fun addition to my hand knit closet. I love the color fade that you get with Spincycle’s Dyed in the Wool for the lace in the yoke (this could also be a great knit to use up little leftover balls of DITW or other fun colors!) and the way this yarn plays with Soka’pii by Farmers Daughters Fibers MIGHT be my new favorite.

This sweater is knit in the round from the top down. After the collar is knit it is folded in half and knit together in the first round of the body to create a rolled collar. Sleeve stitches are put on hold and the body is knit in the round, with optional waist shaping. The sleeve stitches are picked up and finished with a rolled cuff.
