Repose Cardigan
I can’t deny that when the creative process for the Repose Cardigan started, I uttered the sentence “I basically want a socially acceptable blanket to wear”. So that’s what I created. It’s an oversized piece, with subtle short row shaping to give a nice curve on the bottom edge, leaving the back longer than the front. An inverted triangle out of garter stitch on the upper back lends a little something more to the overall visual and keeps it from getting too monotonous at the end.
I recommend a textured yarn like Bud, because it gives some added coziness in my opinion, but really any bulky yarn would be lovely. Thanks to the thicker yarn and larger needles this knits up fairly quickly for an oversized cardigan.
My intention is to further work on this to create a second larger size option, I want it to be as size inclusive of a pattern as I can. As soon as the details of that are worked out, an updated pattern will be published, and anyone who has previously purchased will be emailed the new update as well.
Measurements of the cardigan as the one size stands now are:
Center back length - 36 inches
Neck edge length - 30 inches
Chest circumference - 58 inches
Sleeve length - 16 inches
