▫️▫️▫️
This Cardigan was born out of an urge for simplicity. Clean and understated lines, a minimal and less complicated style of clothing and knitting experience.
The complete pattern was developed in Florence while living in this marvellous renaissance town. There the inspiration of clean lines, elegant form and a focus on tailoring expressed itself in the need to design a basic piece that is simple in its elegance and easy to wear at all times.
The cardigan features understated details that focus on fit with delicate lines at the sides near the high hem and the saddles, a slim integrated button-band, a cropped flattering cut that looks perfect on top of dresses (but not only) and i-cord edges all around.
The yoke construction is worked in a combination technique, first introduced with the BlueSand Cardigan pattern, which provides the perfect fit at the shoulders. Here it is worked in a feminine and more streamlined design that is easy and quick to knit up.
It is designed in a way that needs almost no finishing work at the end: Just sew your buttons on and enjoy the finished piece.
▫️▫️▫️
In this pattern you can find extensive information and tips on how to modify the yoke, the body or sleeves - and how to proceed if you want to adjust the instructions without changing the overall style of the garment.
There are extensive tips and notes marked in blue boxes in each section that explain how to work any adaptions of the pattern for width and length, to adjust according to ones gauge, anatomy and personal preference.
The blue sample with the long sleeves in the pictures has been worked in cotton yarn, while the black short sleeved version in 50% cotton and 50% wool. All kind of yarns should work with this pattern, as long as you get gauge.
A big Grazie to Michela LaMicky for translating this pattern into Italian!
