Residuum Bag
This bag came to life through a desire to create something using all my yarn scraps. It is a fast and fun knit with an easy construction; first you knit the bottom, then by picking up stitches you knit the ”body”. The handles are made out of one piece of i-cord, and cleverly acts both as the closing mechanism and the handles. The original design was knitted holding multiple stands of yarn together, creating a dense fabric.
It is every knitters (and every non-knitters, for that matter) must-have accessory, adding a crafty touch to any outfit and occasion.
The pattern is one size, but the construction is easy to adjust to your liking. Only note that changes in gauge and size will affect the yarn requirements.
The original design is knitted in multiple strands of different yarns held together. Options for combinations are endless. Short scraps of yarn can be tied together, and the small knots adds a bohemic effect to the fabric if left without weaving them in.
