I came up with this pattern one day while brainstorming some unique ideas for cat hats. There are so many different hats to choose from out there and this is my version. Knit and crochet versions to come.

To complete this pattern you will need a basic understanding of how to do Tunisian Crochet in the round. You will need a double ended crochet hook. Make sure the one you are buying is the same gauge on both ends, many of them two sided hooks available on the market are seperate sizes on each end. If you are having a hard time finding them in your local area Love Knitting is an online yarn supplies based out of the UK and they have some to choose from on their website along with a lovely selection of yarns.

I do not know exactly how much yarn was used in the making of this hat, both colors were used from partial skeins that each still have plenty of yardage left for other projects. If you have partial skeins on hand you would like to use up they will most likely work as long as you still have about half the skein for the MC. The contracting color you can probably get away with as little as a quarter of a 100 gr skein left. I would not try it with less than that unless you aren’t bothered by having more than one contrasting color in which case go for it :)
