Reston Socks
Basic lace & ribbing top-down sock with heel-flap & gusset, and modified wedge toe. Stitches include: knit, purl, slip st, yarnover, ssk, k2tog, and kitchener stitch (grafting).
The pattern comes in twelve sizes, ranging from 44 sts around to 88 sts around. The sizes are given in stitch-counts rather than the typical “small, medium, large”, etc. as the pattern may be knit in a variety of yarn weights (most likely fingering or sport-weight) and in a wide range of sizes. A cast-on of 60 to 68 stitches using fingering weight yarn will probably result in a medium-sized sock (circumference-wise); using a sport-weight yarn, this stitch count will result in a larger sock.
The pattern also includes alternate treatment for the foot, i.e., ribbing down the top of the foot instead of continuing the lace and ribbing pattern.
