Retiarius.
Retiarius is a triangle shawl that’s not difficult to knit, but does have some technical aspects to interest those working at an intermediate skill level.
In the yarn shown, it has a nice summery drape and cool feeling.
Whether you have a long gradient skein with generous yardage or a bit less yarn than that, you can knit Retiarius! It features a repeating lace motif that’s fairly satisfying, yet easy to adjust to the yardage you have available.
Materials:
- 600+ yards of fingering to light sportweight yarn (sample is shown in Redheart It’s a Wrap Rainbow, in colorway Foggy).
- 1 24”+ circular needle in US 4-5/35-3.75mm, or size needed for gauge
- Removable stitch markers
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Gauge:
Gauge is 20 sts and 36 rows over 4”/10cm of garter stitch, worked flat & blocked. Gauge is taken from the starting triangle. Please be sure to check your gauge.
A note on yarn:
The yarn used in the sample is Red Heart It’s a Wrap Rainbow in a 150g/623 yard skein, colorway Foggy. Mine’ was old and had no label remaining, but it’s still available after all! Many thanks to anng27 for help with yarn identification.
