Reticulation
Reticulation is a triangular lace shawl of geometric beauty. The simplicity of lines intersecting and play of texture and lace makes this shawl a stunning, geometric lace far from the sacred halls of floral and leaf motifs.
I designed this shawl one afternoon by just sketching diamonds and filling the space around it with lines and patterns in a mosaic of geometric shapes and added in the element of texture and lace. The result? A lace that is far from the overused floral and leaf elements that are traditional in lace knitting. I love this shawl for the masculinity of the lace as well as the gorgeous short row border that allows for color contrast and lengthening of the top edge without taking away from the lace itself.
This is one of my favorite lace shawls that I have done and the geometric lace, texture, and a simple short-row border make this a quick, fun, and interesting knit!
