This easy Retro Measuring Tape Cover crochet pattern is a fun way to spruce up one of your most used crochet accessories! These little retro measuring tape covers are crocheted around the little, often plastic, round retractable measuring tapes that you can find at most craft and dollar stores. On their own these little measuring tapes are fairly plain and boring, but these little measuring tape covers are a great way to spruce them up!

Skill Level: Easy

Gauge: 20 x 20 rows of sc = 4 inches

Finished Size: 2.5 inch diameter (depending on the size of your tape measure insert)

Yarn: Your favourite worsted weight 100% cotton. You will need a small amount (approximately 20-30 yards per tape measure. I used 3 different colours.


Hook: Size G/6 (4 mm) hook.

Notions: Yarn Needle, small retractable round tape measure. Mine has a diameter of about 2.5 inches across.
