Retro Needlebook Basket of Flowers Brooch
Inspired by a memory of my Nana needlebook from the 1950s, I made this for a gift and loved it so much I had to make one for myself too!
Gauge not really important, it makes up to about 45mm or 1 3/4” with a 2.5mm hook. Use appropriate hook for yarn. Lace weight or fingering yarn could probably be used but it’s much easier to find embroidery thread in my town. I used 5 colours.
A brooch back (or a pin) and 2 colours of felt are also required. I also added a bit of sparkle with some beads.
This project is great for using up leftovers you have lying around.
You can use BPtr or just Tr in this pattern
