I designed this square with St. Patrick’s Day in mind! Every year my hometown hosts a huge Irish Festival to honor the people that settled there.

It features a puffy Shamrock bordered by gold, ivory and green stripes. These are colors closely associated with the holiday celebration. You can use whichever colors you prefer.

This pattern uses very simple crochet stitches: Slip, Single, Half Double, Double, and Puff stitches.

This square measures roughly 6.5 X 6.5 inches and uses a 5.5 (I) Hook. You could continue adding additional rounds to the border for a larger square.

This square would be great for bags, blankets and sweaters!
