Retro Tube Socks pattern, an easy and quick project - and the best of all; they have no heels. Since they don’t have heels, they will fit the child’s feet as they grow.

These are a great gift for newborns, for Christmas or just when you need a quick, simple project. You can knit the socks with or without stripes, use some scrap yarn for the stripes and knit the socks in what color you prefer.

The pattern includes 4 sizes:

0 - 6/8 months (8/10 months-2/3 years) 3/4 years - 6/7 years (7/8 years - 10/12 years)

Yarn:
40 (50) 70 (100) g of Drops Merino Extra Fine White
10 g of Drops Merino Extra Fine each Red and Blue.

In yards: 95 (120) 165 (230) /white color
25 of each red and blue color

1 skein of Drops Merino Extra Fine is 50 g (105 m/115 y).

If you are knitting the larger size and the socks will be used frequently, I recommend using a sock yarn, which has a nylon component and makes it stronger.

Skill level 1 & 2: Beginner/Easy

The pattern includes knit and purl stitches and decreasing stitches. You will find link in the pattern showing how to decrease. It is written in English and has written detailed instructions row by row.

The socks are knitted in the round with DPNs or with magic loop on circular needles, depending on which technique you prefer.

You will need:

  • DPNs or circular needles: US 2,5/ 3mm / UK 11
  • Yarn (merino wool, wool, acrylic or any other DK/light worsted/8 ply yarn)
  • Tapestry needle
