Retro Vibe Vest is a round neck vest, completely seamless, worked from the top down. The vest is started from the neck and worked in-the-round, German Short Rows shape the shoulders and at the same time increases are worked to shape the shoulders, with cable panels on each side of the front. Then front and back are separated and worked flat, leaving an opening for the armholes. Once the desired armhole depth is achieved, front and back are joined again and the body is worked in-the-round. Stitches are then picked up to work a rib finishing around the armholes.

The design was inspired by the classic braided vests of the 70s. It combines a classic and simple shape, adorned with a braid on each side of the front, which makes it a timeless piece to any wardrobe.

The estimated yardage by size corresponds to the finished measurements of the garment. If you make personal changes, or if you use a different yarn from the one used in the sample, the amount of yarn may vary. The sample was worked using Merino Baby Alpaca 50/50, DK weight.

The pattern is available in 9 adult sizes. The sweater I am wearing in the photo is a size 3, with 12 cm/4.75 of positive ease. For reference, I am 170 cm/5 ft 7 in tall and my
bust circumference is 96 cm/38.5 in.

Finished circumference around the bust: (88, 98, 108) (118, 128, 138) {148, 158, 168} cm/(35.25, 39.25, 43.25) (47.25, 51.25, 55.25) {59.25, 63.25, 67.25} in.

Positive ease: approximately 7 cm/2.75 in to16 cm/6.5 in.

To choose your size, add the desired ease to the actual measurement of your bust and then find the closest measurement in the schematic. For example: if your bust is 86 cm/34.5
in, you should knit size 2 which has a final measurement of 98 cm/39.25 in (with 12 cm/4.75 in of positive ease).

Gauge: 16 stitches x 23 rounds (10 cm/4 in) with main needles after blocking in stockinette stitch.

Suggested needle size: 5mm/US 8 main circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge. 4 mm/US 6 circular needles,or two sizes smaller than the main needle. Cable lengths may vary as needed. To work small circumferences (neckline or cuffs) you can use double-pointed needles, short circular needles or long circular needles using the Magic Loop technique.

Retro Vibe Vest es un chaleco (sin mangas) de cuello redondo. Se teje de arriba hacia abajo sin costuras. Se comienza en circular, dando forma a los hombros. Para elevar la parte trasera del escote se tejen algunas Vueltas Cortas Alemanas, al mismo tiempo en que se realizan los aumentos para formar los hombros y en que se comienzan a tejer las trenzas, una a cada lado de la delantera. Luego se separa delantera de espalda, que se tejen por separado en plano para dejar la abertura para los brazos. Al unir el cuerpo, se vuelve a tejer en circular. Para finalizar se levantan los puntos de la sisa y se teje en circular un borde de punto elástico.

El diseño fue inspirado en los clásicos chalecos de trenzas de los años 70. Combina una forma clásica y simple, adornada con una trenza a cada lado de la delantera, lo que lo convierte en un complemento atemporal para cualquier guardarropa.

El metraje aproximado de hilado por talla corresponde a las medidas de la prenda terminada que figuran en la tabla. Si haces cambios, o si usas un hilado de características muy diferentes al usado en la muestra, la cantidad de hilado puede variar.
