As soon as we created the retro rainbow for the 2023 summer solstice countdown, we knew we had to create the perfect nod to retro patterns. We came up with this fun, funky & functional bag. We have the recipe here…but feel free to play around and make it your own!

This bag is created by crocheting 24 - 4”x4” squares for the body of the bag, as well as 1 - 8”x4” square for the base of the bag. Your 24 squares will use different textures and colors to keep things fun & interesting! Once all the pieces are complete, they are seamed using single crochet (link to video tutorial is included in the pattern) to create the shape of the bag. Stitches are then picked up along the top to crochet an edge with eyelets. Finally, you will create a strap to be used as a drawstring.
