Reunited
I love the fabric that two different yarns create when held doubled – a different look than when two colors are dyed or plied together into a singular skein. Tired of knitting shawls from top to bottom (those last several rows felt like “slogs” in a never ending sea of garter or lace), I designed this triangular-esque shawl to be knitted from end to end, making for shorter rows and a quick-feeling finish.
Yarns in the project are held together, then apart, then “reunited” together again, throughout. An I-cord neck edge and “nubbins” along the bottom border complete the look.
Use high or low contrast colors for different outcomes. Follow my recipe or customize for a deeper or longer shawl – just make sure you adjust your yarn amounts accordingly.
