These face masks can cause chafing and soreness behind the ears and this reusable crochet ear protector was created to help ease that pain. This is a quick and easy crochet pattern that you can have finished in 15 minutes and can be washed with your clothes!

Within this pattern you will also find printable wash instructions based on CDC and WHO guidelines. If you decide to make a bunch of these to donate, print out the “Instructions For Washing” so our frontline workers know that they can be washed and reused reused if they take the proper precautions.

Materials Needed:

• Lion Brand Yarn 24/7 Cotton
• 4.5mm crochet hook
• Two 3/4” buttons
• Tapestry needle - small enough to fit through button holes

I also wanted to make sure I did the research so that healthcare workers didn’t think they would have to throw it out after a single use. Because what’s the point of taking the time to make all of these crochet ear savers if they’re just going to have to be thrown away?
