Adventurous Beginner - For those knitters who are ready to learn some new skills or stitch combinations. Stitches include knit, purl, slipped stitches, and increase shaping.

Notes from the Designer:

Worked in Thyme Hues, the colors of Reveil are a reminder of nature’s awakening in spring from the long winter months. This asymmetrical triangle shawl starts with only a few stitches at the tip and slowly obtains its shape by continually increasing on one edge only. The shawl contains three sections with each section highlighting a different color. Every section is worked in a different stitch pattern, which results in interesting texture and fabric changes. The shawl is completed with the addition of optional tassels at every tip.

• Reveil is an asymmetrical triangle shawl that is divided into three sections, with each section worked in a different main color and stitch pattern. The selected stitch patterns stand out due to their easy, but diverse nature, which incorporates knits, purls, and slipped stitches. To obtain the triangle shape, the stitch count is increased along a single edge on every other row. The shawl is finished off by blocking it into straight lines and adding optional tassels.
• To achieve the best effect for Section 2, I suggest choosing a color for C2 that contrasts well with both C1 and C3. C2 is carried along the edge for the entirety of Section 2.
• All slipped stitches are slipped purlwise with yarn in front if not otherwise noted.
• The four setup rows are not counted in the total row count of Section 1. Each section resets the row count.
• In Section 2, the bars of the slipped stitches should be shifted, which will create a staggered look.
• Some rows in Sections 2 and 3 begin with a “slip 2 stitches with yarn in front” to offset the stitch pattern.
• The length and width of the shawl can be adjusted individually, but note that the sample used approximately 505 yds (~ 168 yds of each color). For a longer or wider version, you’ll potentially need additional yarn. Continue to work your preferred section to increase the measurements.
• If desired, tassels can be attached to each corner to give the shawl its final touch.

• For the color changes, you can either cut your yarn and weave in the tails, or you can carry the strands up the side. The choice is up to you. Watch a tutorial about carrying your yarn along the edge here.
