Reverie Cowl
Introducing the Reverie Cowl! The second instalment to the Fall edition of my Daydreamer Collection! Another simple and quick item that, I must warn you, can be quite addictive to knit! Ever since I was a child I have loved to have things matching especially my accessories! So go coordinated this fall/winter with a matching set of Daydreamer accessories to keep you cosy and bright through the chilly months!
You can make the light version in DK yarn and then the thicker aran version for when the weather becomes colder in winter! If, like me, your stash is predominantly sock/4ply/fingering weight yarn then why not double up two strands and knit the DK version which creates a lovely marled effect and a more dense warmer fabric without the bulk of chunky yarn! Or go bigger and hold 3 strands together for the aran version!
DK version: Approx 28in/71cm circumference and 9in/22cm long, blocked
-100g of DK yarn. My Sample used 89g.
4mm (US Size 6) circular needle - 100cm.
DK “Marl” version: Approx 28in/71cm circumference and 9in/22cm long, blocked
-100g of fingering weight yarn ( 2X50g held together). My Sample used 99g.
4mm (US Size 6) circular needle - 100cm.
Aran Version: Approx 28in/71cm circumference and 8in/20cm long, blocked
-100g of Aran yarn. My Sample used 83g.
5mm (US Size 8) circular needle - 100cm
This cowl is knit in the round so there are no seams. I used the “magic loop” method with circular needles to create the samples but you may use any method you prefer for knitting in the round. You can also choose to work from Written Instructions or the Charts
Blocking is highly recommended to open out the pattern.
