I reversed Weldon’s Willow Leaf edging from ca. 1892 Weldon’s Practical Needlework, vol. 5, p.10, so the 2 edgings could be used as lapel accents on garments. There are only 11 to 12 stitches per row. There’s an 8-row repeat with 4 simple wrong side rows.
The swatch is 1.25” wide when blocked. It took me about an hour to knit 9 inches of this edging.
Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl, YO, k2tog, SSK and bind off in knit stitch.
Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.
19 yards of #10 crochet thread will make 10 inches of this edging in the stated gauge.
