My friend asked me to write out a pattern for a scarf for her to knit for her daughter. Her daughter sent her a picture of what she wanted, but that was far more complicated than my friend was willing to knit. We sat down and worked out what she was willing to knit for her daughter vs. the picture her daughter sent her. The simpler scarf was a combination of two cables: a center braid cable and a simple cable on each side. This scarf takes it a little further and is a reversible scarf with a center braid and simple cables on the edges.

The cables on this scarf are knit in a k1, p1 ribbing. This doesn’t show as ribbing but it makes the scarf reversible. It is a very cushy and warm scarf.

Finished measurements: Medium (Long, Extra Long) – 6 wide by approx. 68 (102, 136) inches. Extra Long version shown.

Yarn: The sample scarf was knit using Knit Picks WOOL OF THE ANDES TWEED (80% Peruvian Highland Wool, 20% Donegal Tweed, 110 yds/50 grams): Medium - 4 skein North Pole Heather; Long - 6 skeins; Extra Long – 8 skeins.
