Yarns that are flexible and easily bendable like Simply Soft, Wool-Ease and most more expensive yarns work better with this pattern like the cheaper yarns or yarns like Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn.

This pattern is reversible (looks the same on front and back). It uses reversible cable and garter columns bordered by knit columns.

It is knit with size 7 needles.

A little more than 2 skeins of Caron Simply Soft yarn will make both the scarf and the matching hat. Photos in Autumn Red.

The scarf actually has exactly the same pattern when knitting both the front and back sides. The hat pattern is the same on both sides except for the two garter stitches in each garter column.
