Reversible Cable Moebius Cowl
This cowl design stems from my recent adventures in Moebius knitting. Since this kind of construction shows both sides of the knitted piece at all times, I was looking for interesting reversible patterns.
The pattern is a true Moebius, based on the Moebius cast-on by Cat Bordhi.
The sample cowl in natural colors is knit in heavy worsted/Aran weight yarn and has a loose fit around the neck. The blue cowl is knit in DK yarn using smaller needles to obtain a tighter fit.
Size: Aran weight: inside diameter at the center (neck area): about 20”/50cm. Height 11” (28cm)
Yarn: Katia Miski, Baby Lama, (82yd/1 ¾ oz)/(75m/50g) or other worsted / Aran weight yarn, total of 330yd/300m
Color A: natural 2 skeins (164yd/150m yds)
Color B: light brown (82yd/75m)
Color C: medium brown (82yd/75m)
(I used every inch of the yarn, please keep that in mind)
Needle: US 6/4mm (length 42”/100cm) and 7/ 4.5mm circular needles, or needle size to match your yarn.
Notions: 1 stitch marker
Gauge: 30 sts – 28 rows / 4” (10cm) in cable pattern.
Yarn: Malabrigo Silky Merino (150yd/1 ¾ oz)/(140m/50g) or other DK weight yarn, total of 270yd/250m
Needle: US 4/3.5mm (length 42”/100cm) and 6/ 4mm circular needles, or needle size to match your yarn.
Notions: 1 stitch marker
Gauge: 30 sts – 28 rows / 4” (10cm) in cable pattern.
Experience level: intermediate
Note: the pattern states to Moebius CO a total of 160 sts. This is counting the sts on the upper cable only and means you will have a full total of 320 sts.
The pattern has been tested thanks to CraftyLzrd, spacecoastknitter, knittin, and Gwenaelle37.
