Inspired by the reflections of the sky in a mountain lake surrounded by slate stones, I designed this pattern. First I created a scarf (also available in my store at: https://carts.ravelry.com/patterns/library/scarf-reflections) and now this reversible cap has been added. When designing the cap, it was important to me that the pattern would carry through to the top so that the illusion of reflections would be maintained. I really fell in love with this pattern and wanted to give myself the cap as a present for the coming winter. I probably didn’t count on my two sons, who regularly “lend” me the cap ;-).
The cap is double knitted and can therefore be worn on both sides. The two layers ensure cozy warmth on the head. This accessory will give you or the recipient(s) a lot of pleasure when wearing it. And you can be sure of admiration for the pattern that is carried through to the top.
Please don’t be put off by the double knitting technique. Basically, anyone who knits purl and knit can easily learn the double face technique. If you are not yet familiar with the technique, you can find a free guide to learning the technique here: https://www.crazypatterns.net/en/items/97086/double-face-....

Knowledge required:
• Stitch cast-on
• Cast off
• Knitting knit and purl stitches
• Knitting with a needle set
• A little practice in knitting double face (I recommend learning my free double face knitting tutorial here: https://www.crazypatterns.net/en/items/97086/double-face-...)
If you have this knowledge, you can easily knit this hat. The stitch sequence is quickly memorized and is therefore easy to knit.

What you get:
You will receive 8 pages of instructions. The instructions include a clear counting pattern and a partially illustrated round-by-round description.

Level of difficulty:
Medium
If you can follow the exercises from my free basic school Double Face Knitting (https://www.crazypatterns.net/en/items/97086/double-face-...) and have a little experience in knitting with a needle set, or if you have the patience to learn this while knitting the cap, you can knit this cap.

Due to the elasticity of the knitted fabric, the cap can be worn in sizes S to XL.

Stitch gauge:
With knitting needles no. 3: 23 stitches = 10 cm wide. 31 rows = 10 cm high.
With this gauge, the cap has a circumference of approx. 53 cm and a height of approx. 20 cm.

Materials Needed:
• Adriafil Genziana, 100% Merino (LL approx. 185m / 50g): 50g (= 1 ball) in Medium Melange Grey (color 083) and 50g (= 1 ball) in Light Blue (color 09).
My total consumption for the cap was 75g. Depending on your personal knitting style, consumption may vary slightly. This cap can of course also be knitted with another wool with a similar yardage. Make sure that the selected wool is not itchy. The same amount of wool is needed for both colors.
• Circular knitting needles no. 2 ½ (max. 40cm)
Depending on your personal preference, you can also work with a needle set no.
2 ½.
• Circular knitting needles no. 3 (max. 40cm)
Depending on personal preference, a needle set no. 3 can also be used.
• Needle set no. 3.
• Sewing needle
• Scissors
