Reversible fairisle hat
In this reversible fairisle hat we will be knitting a beanie, picking up stitches around the cast on edge and knitting a second beanie on the bottom. What we end up with is a fully reversible double thickness hat perfect for those chilly winter mornings or a visit to the snow.
This uses 1 ball of each colour in Inca Spun worsted (100M of each colour). It will feel like you’ll run out of the first colour you use but you will make it with between 1-4” left. You’ll have a bit more left of the second colour. If you make it longer than suggested, you’ll likely need more yarn.
You are welcome to use a different fairisle pattern, the stitch count allows for a 4, 8 or 12 stitch repeat.
Gauge: this isn’t hugely important as the beanie does stretch a little bit. I had a gauge of 18sts over 4”.
Finished size: 22” (56cm) circumference, 9” (23cm) height.
