Please note that there’s a small error in the written instructions for the cast on numbers. The gauge amounts for the pattern refer to 40 stitches and 36 stitches, however the numbers given to cast on are 40 or 32. Later, the written instructions refer to 40 and 36.

The correct cast on numbers are 40 or 36, depending on needle size.

The error is minor since the pattern works with any even number of stitches, however an updated and corrected version of the pattern will be released in late April 2019.

This is a simple little mug mat/coaster knit in linen stitch using small amounts of leftover sock yarn, something that sock knitters always seem to have an abundance of!

An updated version of this pattern has replaced the original. The only corrections involve two minor typographical errors that do not directly affect the pattern. If you have the version that was available from 5/25/10 to 7/22/10, you don’t really need to download the newer version.
